I’m writing this post from my hometown Ocotlan. I’m in one of the small cybercafes near my inlaw’s house and I  stopped by to write some lines on this the last day of the year 2007.

This in year in particular has been quite extraordinary and I will never forget it.  Here are some of the things that I went through this year that marked a milestone in my life:

1) January 2007: I closed my business OCOTRADE, LLC and online store “My-Dog-Supplies.com”.  OCOTRADE was my first legal entity born in the USA,  and the cool thing about it is that I created this company from Mexico without having to be physically in the US. I used this company to run my online store “My-Dog-Supplies.com” for a few years, which was a Yahoo Store. While I was having a small  success with it, it was more the trouble of administering the company than the money I was making, so I decided to close it. But the experience I gained was tremendous.

 2) February 2007: I visited Europe for the first time. The company I work for sent me to Amsterdam in Holland, to attend some meetings.  I enjoyed the city although it was quite cold for me that I’m used to warmer climates.

3) March 2007: I visited China for the first time. Again, my company sent me to Shanghai to attend some meetings there. I must say that Shanghai impressed me a lot as I could see for myself why China is destined to be the driving force of this century. I remember seeing all those tall buildings from “The Bund” and the Oriental Pearl Tower.

4) May 2007: I discovered the Web 2.0.  This is by far the greatest discovery of the year for me. I still remember I was in the Atlanta airport returning from Holland when I saw a magazine where they had this topic on their cover. At that time I didn’t have any idea of what Web 2.0 meant.  Now, after reading the “Authority Black Book” a new world has been opened to me and I’m ready to conquer it.

5) June 2007: I created my site HispaMarketing.com: This site is made with Joomla and my idea was to have a bilingual site (english / spanish) where I bloggued about Internet Business Ideas. This site is still active but I haven’t update it as I have now moved to Wordpress which is far more better to blogging than Joomla.

This month is special because it is the month where Flextronics buys the company I work for which is Solectron.

6) September 2007: I crated this blog, “TechnoBuck.com”. This my first blog in Wordpress and I must say I’m greatly impressed with WordPress.

This is also the month where the merger of Flextronics and Solectron is finalized and I’m told that I would have a job with the merged company up to January 2008.

7) November / December 2007: I finished my training with the “30 Day Challenge” and joined the “Social Power Linking” membership site. I’m ready to take off with the knowledge gained on these two programs.

This month  is also important because I ended with Zero Credit Card Debt which is great!

So these are the most important events of my life during this year 2007. I hope that a year from now, I write the results of my endeveours during 2008.

I had always wanted to blog in two languages (Spanish / English) as I believe that taking advantage of two languages gives me an important advantage over people that only knows one language, but blogging in Spanish and English at the same time has been really a huge mental challenge, at least for me.

I think I can translate very quickly on either direction, the real problem comes from pretty much the same thing I found when I was trying to use Twitter in both languages: “It brakes the natural flow of ideas”.

Yes that is right, if you think about it, blogs and other tools like Twitter, have made possible the fact that when you have an idea in your mind, you can immediately go twitter or your blog and talk about it at that very moment in time. Adding the hassle of having to translate every post to another language goes against any creative process. Making a post in your blog is creative but making a translation of it it’s not.

Since I’m an internet marketer, most of the material I ready and study is in English so every time I think about Internet Marketing or Internet Business, which are the things I like the most, I think in English not in Spanish (my first language), so as amazing it might seem, it’s a lot easier for me, to blog about internet Business in English and not in Spanish.

Now, this blog you are currently reading is just my passion and I don’t pretend to make it my main source of income. I intend to make money by building niche authority sites that have nothing to do with Internet Marketing, there is already a lot of people that are the leaders of this field. My intention with this blog is just to have a place to express my own ideas and show to myself and my readers my progress to reaching financial independence (online and offline). So if my ideas are already in English, I prefer to keep blogging in English. (at least for this blog)

When should I start blogging in Spanish?

The answer to this question, is really easy: If there’s a market big enough that is demanding that I write in Spanish, then I will. Otherwise, I advise you don’t try to blog in two languages just for the sake of writing in two languages.

I need to focus on being the leader on my other niches, so I need to optimize my time and spend it where I can get the most benefit of it. Life is short, remember!

I’m spending the Christmas holiday in my hometown Ocotlan, Mexico. It’s not that far from Guadalajara, it’s just 1 and a half hour drive so it’s not too bad, and I like it when I come here because I can see my family.

While I’ve  been disconnected here from the Internet, I’ve been very busy studying the material from Jack Humphrey’s “Social Power Linking”, which is very interesting stuff. I guess that with the knowledge gained from Ed Dales’ “30 Day Challenge” combined with the training of “Social Power Linking” I’ll be more than ready to start making some money online in just a couple of weeks more.

Also today at noon, at my parent’s home, I was reading one of those old books I used to read when I was younger. The book is “How to stop worrying and start living”. I had already read that book several times but I’m glad I did again because I remembered the first two lessons from that book:

 1) Just live one day at a time:  Stop worrying about the past and future. Just concentrate on one task at a time and live life just one day at a time.

 2) When in trouble, just think “What is the worst thing that can happen to me?” and once you know the answer to this question, then just accept it and move on.

These two lessons are more crucial than ever to me at this time of my life as I need to be very focused and concentrated on my success on my Internet Business after I’m fired in January 31st. I can’t distract myself with the ton of things around an Internet Business, I need to write down a plan and make good use of my time.

So see you next time, next time I write, I’ll be back in Guadalajara. May you enjoy a Marry Christmas!

This week I’ve been working on changing the look of and feel my blog. I found this theme very intersting and useful and it is called “Deep Blue”, you can check the link to the designer of this wonderful theme at the bottom of this blog.

What I really like about this theme is the several possibilities to monetize this blog through selling ad space. In the meantime, I’ve just put some Affilite Buttons on them, but I will replace these affiliate buttons as soon I start making some direct ad sales.

I’ve been using “OpenAds” to manage my ad inventory. This is a wonderful piece of software and I’m sure it will make my life easier once I have more website properties to sell advertising space.

It’s me again. Sorry, I did it again. Yes I got distracted again and broke the momentum to keep posting on my blog. Today is December 19th, which is 14 days since the last time I wrote and just 43 days away from being fired of the company I’m currently employed. Not a good thing if I want to start making a decent income from Internet. If I really want to succeed I need to be constant and persistent on things I do.

Here are things I did on these 14 days since the last time I wrote:

1) I bought a Sony Mini DV Digital Camcorder: This is a toy I’ve wanted so badly for months, so I finally decided to buy it as now that I don’t have a job it would become harder to get one. I must say that I lost something like 4 or 5 days trying to learn how the camera works and finding out a way to connect it to the computer. Everything works well now, but the quality of MinDV is so great that one minute of recording equals 200 MB of data, so I need to find a way to convert these videos to MP4 to make them lighter for my PC, but that will be something to be done when I have some free time, I don’t want to procrastinate on this anymore.

2) I finished Ed Dale’s 30 Day Challenge:: Well, not everything is bad news, this is a good achievement I did as I committed myself to finishing the 30 Day Challenge. I decided to take as many lessons on a day as I could as I needed to speed up the training. I’m glad I did because it was really easy to follow and want to thanks Ed Dale so much for putting together such a great training, it really helped a lot and I have plans to implement what I learned like right now

3) I bought another Webcam: Here is another thing that got me distracted. I already had a webcam, but it was really bad, so I decided to get a new one with a better resolution, and again, I lost another few days trying to get this thing work with my Laptop. The camera looks much better than the other one I had, but there is something with the camera that doesn’t seem to work well with Windows XP. I stopped trying to find out about how to fix this, as I don’t want to get distracted even more with this.

4) Issues from Work that keep my mind busy I’ve had some issues at work that not only keep me busy for most of the day at work but they also make me thing about the problems all the time in my mind. That’s one of bad things of running an online business at the same time you work. Even if I’m not “doing anything” in reality my mind is always busy thinking how to fix things at work. I expect that once I’m gone from my job, my mind will be more focused towards making my online business work.

So that’s it, I will do my best so I don’t get distracted again.
