I will stop blogging in two languages

I had always wanted to blog in two languages (Spanish / English) as I believe that taking advantage of two languages gives me an important advantage over people that only knows one language, but blogging in Spanish and English at the same time has been really a huge mental challenge, at least for me.

I think I can translate very quickly on either direction, the real problem comes from pretty much the same thing I found when I was trying to use Twitter in both languages: “It brakes the natural flow of ideas”.

Yes that is right, if you think about it, blogs and other tools like Twitter, have made possible the fact that when you have an idea in your mind, you can immediately go twitter or your blog and talk about it at that very moment in time. Adding the hassle of having to translate every post to another language goes against any creative process. Making a post in your blog is creative but making a translation of it it’s not.

Since I’m an internet marketer, most of the material I ready and study is in English so every time I think about Internet Marketing or Internet Business, which are the things I like the most, I think in English not in Spanish (my first language), so as amazing it might seem, it’s a lot easier for me, to blog about internet Business in English and not in Spanish.

Now, this blog you are currently reading is just my passion and I don’t pretend to make it my main source of income. I intend to make money by building niche authority sites that have nothing to do with Internet Marketing, there is already a lot of people that are the leaders of this field. My intention with this blog is just to have a place to express my own ideas and show to myself and my readers my progress to reaching financial independence (online and offline). So if my ideas are already in English, I prefer to keep blogging in English. (at least for this blog)

When should I start blogging in Spanish?

The answer to this question, is really easy: If there’s a market big enough that is demanding that I write in Spanish, then I will. Otherwise, I advise you don’t try to blog in two languages just for the sake of writing in two languages.

I need to focus on being the leader on my other niches, so I need to optimize my time and spend it where I can get the most benefit of it. Life is short, remember!
