Trough Traci Knoppe’s personal blog, I found a very shocking video about abortion. It is a video made in Spanish by the mexican actor Eduardo Verastegui, although it has English sub-titles.
Being myself a Roman Catholic I strongly believe that abortion is a bad thing and that life should be respected at all times. It doesn’t matter how old or young a human being is, at the end we all have the same dignity, and we should defend life especially of innocents like unborn babies. If a mother for any reason, doesn’t want to have the baby there are always means to give the baby in adoption if that is the case.
According to the video, only in the U.S. more than 3,000 babies are killed every day (1 million per year aprox.) which would be comparable to the Jewish Holocaust. From my personal perspective, the systematic extermination of a group of human beings for any reason, whether it be religion, race, sex, health condition or age like in the case of babies, it is not acceptable.
As we currently are one month away from the U.S. presidential election of November 2008, the video is trying to pull voters away from Barak Obama that apparently is supporting abortion practices and is even saying that abortion is currently used to stop the growh of the Hispanic population in the U.S. that is growing at a high rate compared vs. the white american population.
Besides my opposition to abortion, I also believe that is not correct to politize the subject, in a way that tags Democrats as “Pro-Choice” or Republicans as “Pro-Life”, as it tends to polarize people and doesn’t create a good environment for a serious discussion. I’m pretty sure that there are supporters of abortion in both parties (Democrats and Republicans) and even among people without any political preference.
The video is very explicit and contains shocking images so BE CAREFUL NOT TO WATCH VIDEO IN FRONT OF CHILDREN.
